Poems and Songs

Without a Camera (1)

A cloudy day until - surprise!

The sun poked long, pale fingers through.

Celestial stage-hands in the flies

Played spotlights on the darkened view.

The picture of the year, hurrah!

IF I had brought my camera.

Without a Camera (2)

A group of children unaware

Posed gracefully absorbed in play,

The sunlight glinting on their hair.

A perfect shot, a perfect day

For colour or for monochrome

WHY was my camera at home?

Without a Camera (3)

The  mist dissolves, the sun comes out

Bathing the streets in pearly light

That tempts photographers to shout,

Its all so magically right,

While I can but resolve in sorrow

Ill wear that camera tomorrow.
