Amateur of Professional Photographer?

James Simpson

Copyright

In the 1890s, Messrs Percy Lund & Co, publishers of the journal, The Practical Photographer, offered to undertake the registration of any photograph or drawing for a fee of 1/6d.

The 1 December 1891 edition [p.335] included the following.  It is not clear whether this photographer was an amateur or a professional.  I have not found him recorded in the trade directories, and have not added him to my list of professional photographers on this web site.

James Simpson:  Middlefield, Pilrig, Edinburgh

1.  One Photograph entitled
"A trip from Leith to N Berwick, Bass Rock, Elie and the May Island".
