Tempest Photography

Thank you to Tempest Photography, St Ives, Cornwall, for allowing me to reproduce photographs of school classes taken at Longstone Primary School, Edinburgh, and other Edinburgh schools.

At the time the photos were taken, Tempest, aerial and school photographers, were based at Nottingham.  They moved to their current home, St Ives Cornwall, around 1960.

H Tempest

I've also added to the EdinPhoto web site, a photograph of Murrayfield Primary School Football Team, 1954-55, with the name 'H TEMPEST' printed below it.  The Edinburgh & Leith Post Office Directories list this company as being a photographer at 8 Bank Street, Edinburgh in 1955-59.

I don't know whether or not there would have been any connection between Tempest Photography, St Ives (above) and H Tempest (Edinburgh)  -  probably not, but it does seem a coincidence that both companies took photos at Edinburgh schools around the 1950s.

I've not been able to contact anybody who was connected with H Tempest.  If you know how to contact anybody from the company, please email me to let me know so that I can discuss copyright with them.
