Thank you to Jim Cairns, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, for allowing
me to reproduce a photograph of his Primary 1 class, taken at
Castle Hill School, Edinburgh, in 1949.
Jim has also allowed me to reproduce a
photograph of his Class 1B2 at Boroughmuir school, taken in 1957
by the Science Teacher, Mr Cowan. If anybody knows how to
contact Mr Cowan or his family, please
email me so that I can discuss the copyright of this photo
with them.
Jim has also allowed me to reproduce some
photographs of Edinburgh taken by his father, David Cairns, in the
1950s, and a photograph taken at the foot of his stair at 1 Ramsay
Lane by an unknown Scandinavian tourist, around 1956.
