I received an email message in December 2004 from somebody who was a good friend of Alan Daiches in Edinburgh in the 1950s and 1960s.

They are wondering if it is possible to contact him now.  If you can  help, please email me and I will pass on details to the enquirer.

I was very sorry to receive a message from Alan Daiches' daughter on 5 February 2006, telling me that Alan had died suddenly on 29 January 2006.
