James Patrick
James Patrick was born on 18 May 1863. He was son of Edinburgh professional photographer John Patrick (1831-1923).
EPS and EPC Member
James Patrick was a prominent Member of Edinburgh Photographic Society, and was its President in 1897.
He was also a Member of Edinburgh Photographic Club from 1891 to 1908. The 'Club' was a select group of 30 photographers, all of whom had to be EPS Members. Entry was by invitation.
Exhibitor and Exhibition Judge
James Patrick exhibited his work in the EPS 1890 Exhibition.
He, together with James Burns, another EPS Member, judged the photographic exhibition held in Waverley Market in 1901
Professional Photographer
James Patrick had professional photographic studios in Edinburgh from 1895 to 1907.
He produced postcards under the title Castle Series in the early 1900s. These included some very attractive views of Edinburgh and Swanston.
