The cover of this map displays a photograph of Princes Street, looking towards the east.

There are several clues to the date of this map, which I estimate as being approx 1932.

- The cover of the map names FA Fitzpayne as Transport Manager. He appeared in the Accounts of Edinburgh Corporation Transport Department as Transport Manager for 6 years up to 15 May 1834.

- WJ Stoddart has an advertisement on the back of the map. In this, he claims to have been the Official Contractor for advertising in the 1929, 1930 and 1931 editions of the Edinburgh Corporation Guide Book.

- The Edinburgh Savings bank also has an advertisement on the back of the map. They claim to have assets of £11,591,820 3s 6d. I have not checked the which year-end this total asset figure refers to.

Many of the routes shown on this map are very similar today's bus routes.
