Here is a tram is heading to the south down South St Andrew Street, a short street leading from St Andrew Square

-   Straight ahead are a bus in Princes Street and a tram turning into Princes Street.

-   In the background are the high buildings of the Old Town of Edinburgh, with the distinctive spire of St Giles Church in the High Street standing out on the skyline.

Milk Bars

Bryan Gourlay, Biggar, Lanarkshire, Scotland, has sent recollections of Edinburgh Milk Bars in the 1950s. 

He points out that one of Edinburgh's two milk bars was immediately to the left of the road repair sign, on the pavement in the large photograph above.
