"Here is a photo of my father, David Ireland, taken in the 1980's. He was the Head Brewer at the Caledonian Brewery in Slateford when it was called Lorimer and Clarks and was still owned by the Usher Vaux of Sunderland.   He retired in the mid-1980s.

Brewery Horses

"I had hoped to see a photograph of the brewery horses pulling the dray and delivering the beer casks to the pubs. I remember seeing such deliveries in Rose Street probably in the 1960s or 1970s.
