The Practical Photographer - 1895
The illustration above appeared in the journal: 'The Practical
Photographer', May 1895, together with an illustration for the
Flat Folding Kodak camera. The journal commented:
"A good idea. Supersedes the
flippity-flopping focussing cloth and is quite a pleasure to use.
The focusser fits by elastic bands on the ears, and does not interfere
with the hat or hair in any way; a very great convenience."
"Moreover, the chamber is perfectly
dark, and it is therefore easier to focus exactly - sometimes a difficult
operation on a windy day, with the old form of cloth."
