Three Exhibitions

August to October

2013

Edinburgh Photographic Society

EPS

Here is a message from Neil Scott FRPS DPAGB EFIAP, international photographic exhibitor and EPS Members' Exhibition Secretary.

It gives information about 3 exhibitions, to be held over the next 3 months, in the Downstairs Gallery at EPS Premises, 68 Great King Street, Edinburgh

The message is addressed to EPS Members, but the content may be of interest to a wider audience.

Below is an extract from Neil's message.  I've added a few of my own comments in grey, in the boxes below.

Neil wrote:

Three Exhibitions

"EPS is hosting three exhibitions in the Downstairs Gallery.  These exhibitions are all quite varied in their content.

(a)  Currently, along with

EPS International, Exhibition,

we are showing a selection of prints from this year's Annual Exhibition of

The Royal Photographic Society's Visual Art Group.

This exhibition showcases the best work from this section of the RPS.

Exhibition (a)

The EPS international Exhibition is on display from 4 Aug to 1 Sep 2013.

Entry to the EPS International Exhibition entitles members of the public to also see the prints from the RPS Exhibition, on display in the gallery downstairs in the same building.

Peter Stubbs, Edinburgh, August 14, 2013

(b) Then, for about four weeks during September, we will be showing a selection from

The  London Salon

Getting an acceptance in the London Salon is quite an achievement.

(c) After that, we have the

The Dublin Camera Club Annual exhibition.

This exhibition lets us see what members from another club have to offer.

Exhibitions (b) + (c)

These exhibitions may be viewed at any time of day by EPS Members.

There will be no Official Public Opening of 68 Great King Street to allow members of the public to see these exhibitions.

However, if you'd particularly like to see one of the exhibitions, or are considering joining EPS, please come along to 68 Great King Street at about 7pm on any Wednesday evening from 25 September 2013** onwards.

Then,  you should be able to have a chat about the society with some of the EPS Members and see the exhibition, before the society's weekly meeting commences at 7.30pm.

EPS Opening Night

** Edinburgh Photographic Society's Opening Night for the 2013-14 Season will begin at 7.30pm on 25 September 2013 at the society's premises, 68 Great King Street, Edinburgh.

There will be a welcome from the society's President and opportunities to have a tour of the premises and to see demonstrations, given by some of the groups within the society:

-  The Nature Group

-  The Studio & Portrait Group

-  The Creative Digital Group and

- The Phoenix Group, (which caters for members wishing to enter their prints into external exhibitions).

For more information about the society please see the EPS web site.

Peter Stubbs, Edinburgh, August 14, 2013

Neil Scott, EPS:  August 14+16, 2013
with acknowledgement to Sandy Cleland
for bringing these exhibitions to Edinburgh.
