Built 2004-05
A new
air traffic control tower is due to open at Edinburgh Airport on 7
November 2005. It is 57 meters high and cost £11m.
It is
expected that the tower will allow mort flights into and out of Edinburgh
Airport, so enabling passenger numbers using Edinburgh Airport to soon
overtake the numbers using Glasgow Airport.
The tower recently won an architectural
award in the annual Building and Engineer Awards:
'The Commercial / Retail Building of the
Year'. |
