Edinburgh Doors Open Day

Doors Open Days give people access, free of charge, to buildings that are not normally open to the public.

The event is held annually in Edinburgh, during one of the weekends in  September.  For the past 22 years, it has been organized by the Cockburn Association.

The 2012 event has 121 venues listed in the Cockburn Association's brochure, ranging from a 15th century tower to modern architecture, together with a programme of lunchtime and evening talks in the week preceding Doors Open Day.

Further Information

Addresses and opening times for the buildings, together with brief background and architectural details are available:

- in a brochure published by the Cockburn Association, Trunk's Close,  55 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1SR.  (The illustration at the top of this page is the cover of this brochure.)

Copies of the brochure are also available from Edinburgh libraries before the event and from participating buildings on the weekend of the event..
