Papal Visit to Edinburgh

2010

State Visit

Pope Benedict XVI made 4-day State Visit to Britain (Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Birmingham) in September 2010.  The visit began in Edinburgh on September 16.

He was driven quickly along Princes Street in the morning, on his way from Edinburgh Airport to meet The Queen at Holyrood Palace.  In the early afternoon, he was driven back along Princes Street, more slowly, in his Popemobile.

The few photos that I took of the Pope are not worth adding to the web site.  Far better photos appeared in the Press and, no doubt, on the Internet.  However, here are a few photos that I took in Princes Street on the day of his visit.
