The Play

Easter Play - Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh - Approaching Cavalry - April 2006 ©

The Princes Street Easter Play Trust are to perform their Easter Play in in the style of the medieval 'mystery plays', in West Princes Street Gardens, on Easter Saturday, 15 April 2006.  The play will begin at 2.30 pm and will last about two hours.

The play will progress through five locations, all in West Princes Street Gardens, with the audience following the cast through the gardens between scenes.  The play will end with Crucifixion and Resurrection scenes on the slopes beneath Edinburgh Castle

The Crucifix will It will remain in position for five days, and will be decorated with flowers on Easter Sunday morning.
