Princes Street

This view was taken by Norward Inglis, in the early 1950s.  It looks along Princes Street towards:

-  Edinburgh Castle (top-left corner)

-  Caledonian Hotel, Lothian Road (upper-centre)

-  Corstorphine Hotel (upper-right)

-  Royal Scottish Academy (centre of picture).

I found it interesting to see the row of cars parked in in beside the Royal Scottish Academy, with what appears to be many vacant places, within a few yards of Princes Street.  It was to be about another decade before parking meters were introduced into Edinburgh.
