The top photo above shows the 'official' road sign warning drivers to look out for elderly people.  This is the sign that appears in the Highway Code.

The second  photo above shows the sign for traffic travelling in the opposite direction along the road.  It is an 'unofficial' road sign that has been stuck on top of the original sign.

I don't know who produced this sign, but it has survived well, and must have caught the attention of a lot of motorists.  I first noticed this sign in May 2011 and took the photos above on May 25.  The sign was still there when I last passed along the road recently (on August 4, 2011).
