Erecting a Bus Shelter

Location

I took this photo of a  bus shelter being erected outside Edinburgh Central Library and across the road from the National Library of Scotland on a fine October afternoon in 2011.

Over the previous few weeks a lot of work had been done on the pavements on both sides of George IV Bridge, installing new flagstones and bollards.  The work now seemed to be nearing completion when I took this photo.

The Photo

In this photo, the top of the shelter and the top of the bus stop both have to be lifted into place.  They are lying on the flat bed truck.  The work had been completed when I passed the same spot about three hours later.

I felt that for this photo, the shapes were more important than the colour, so I have displayed the photo:

a)  in black+white (above), and also

b)  in sepia THEN adjusted with the Photoshop  'Poster Edges' filter:
