Easter Road

Easter Road

This photo was taken looking to the south down Easter Road, fairly close to Hibs' Football Stadium.

The old Police Box is one of several that can still be found in the streets of Edinburgh.  This one stands by the bridge over the railway to the south of the junction of Easter Road and Albion Road.

Shops

The red and blue shops in the background are both Polish shops.  Several Polish shops have opened in Easter Road and Leith Street over the past few years to cater for the increasing Polish population in the area.

The View

The foreground is rather cluttered with the wheelie bins on the pavement and the battered road sign for the school crossing.

The steeple of London Road Church, on the corner of London Road and Easter Road can be seen in the background.  The bus heading up Easter Road is on Route 35 from Ocean Terminal to Edinburgh Airport via Holyrood.
