Princes Street

The View

This view looks to the SE from Queensferry Street towards the West End of Princes Street.  The two churches in the background, beyond the clock in the street are:

-  left:  St John's

-  right:  St Cuthbert's

Edinburgh Castle is on Castle Hill, beyond the churches.

The department store on the left was:

-  From 1904:  Maules

-  From 1931:  Binns

-  From 1976:  Frasers

Publisher

I don't know the publisher of this post card.  I have only seen the front of the card.  Looking at the back of this card might reveal who the publisher was and /or when the card is likely to have been published.

Date?

When might this photo have been taken?  The tram and car behind suggest to me perhaps around 1920s.  (Note that Maule's Department Store became Binns in 1931.
