Lillywhites. The number suggests that it is one of a series
in the suburbs of Edinburgh

Thank you to Malcolm Powel who sent
the reply below, which I've now passed on to Alastair Campbell.
can tell you that a firm named Lilywhites was based in Millbank,
then relocated to Sowerby Bridge in 1931 after a fire. I don't
have any more details - but they produced a number of postcards
and were famous for paper and cards in the area at that time.
There is a mention of the company in this
Ken Lochhead was an artist who
produced paintings, illustrated maps and postcards. He was a
former President of Edinburgh Photographic Society.

in Edinburgh and on the internet.. There are views of
Scotland, including several of Edinburgh, by professional
photographer ,Allan Wright.
