Loom United Wire Works has been based at Granton since 1925. When I visited United Wire Works in 1992, I found many looms like this one operating, weaving wire of different dimensions. Some of the woven sire is used in filters in cars. The pattern on the back of digestive biscuits come from the wire mesh that they are baked on, manufactured by United Wire Works. |
