Weighing the wire Here is one of the workers at United Wire Works, photographed in 1991. This process of attaching wires to the beam of the loom was known as beaming. The wires on the beam were stretched along the length or the loom, alternate wires being moved up then down during the weaving process as the shuttle passed between them inserting the cross wires. |
