Tanfield House

1990s

Tanfield House became the main Administrative Office for Standard Life Assurance Company in Edinburgh in 1991.

Here are photographs of Tanfield House taken in 1987, before the building was restored for use by Standard Life:

2008

About fifteen years later, the number of staff (but not the amount of business being written) by Standard Life had declined, and Tanfield House was put on the market.  It is now (in 2008) being redeveloped.  I believe that it is to be broken into smaller units.
