Blacksmith

Since 1951, Alexander McLennan is has run his small blacksmith  business from his workshop in Dunedin Street, Powderhall.  Now, in 2004, it is a one-man business with a steady trade from the nearby Edinburgh New Town (built in the mid 18th century!).

Most of the other industries in the Powderhall area in the area including Duncan's chocolate factory, a Lamb's wood flour mill supporting the linoleum industry in Kirkcaldy, Waterston's sealing wax works and several engineering firms have now closed down or left the area.

UPDATE
