Fire Training

McDonald Road Fire Station

This large metal construction is known as 'the ship'.  It is situated beside McDonald Road Fire Station.

As a training exercise, it is fitted with seating in different arrangements,  perhaps to resemble a cinema in which a fire has broken out an all lighting has been lost.  A fire is lit inside, and dummies are left inside for firemen to rescue, wearing their breathing apparatus.
