Leith Walk Premises
Craig & Rose premises were fronted with a shop close to Leith Walk,
then the premises and yard extended well back to the west.
I first visited the shop in the 1960s, while doing voluntary work with
International Voluntary Service. We decorated the homes of old
people living in Edinburgh & Leith. Craig & Rose was one of the
companies that donated paint and wallpaper to IVS for this work.
As a result, many of the houses around Leith were decorated, usually
with wallpaper that had a repeating pattern of pink roses! |
