The Company Chapman Inveresk works in McDonald Road produced envelopes until the works closed on December 18, 1991. At the time of my visit in November 1991, the shift was working until 8pm and most of the equipment appeared to be operating. |

The Machinery Here is a very large machine that I saw in use. The end result of the operation was a stream of small envelopes emerging from the right-hand end of the machine. Some of the machinery had already been moved to new premises in Lanarkshire. |
