'Writing on the Wall''

Thank you to Lenny Toshack for sending me a photograph of the Edinburgh group,  'Writing on the Wall'.

Unfortunately, the photograph is taken from a copy of the New Musical Express, published around 1968, so there may be copyright problems in adding that photo to the EdinPhoto web site.

However, I can reproduce Lenny's comments.

The Jury

Three's a Crowd

"The Edinburgh group, 'Writing On The Wall' was previously know as 'The Jury' and 'Three's A Crowd'.  It was, led by the enigmatic Linnie Paterson on vocals.  They were a much loved band and had a huge following in Edinburgh.

Sadly, Paterson died a few years ago of asbestosis.

By 1968, the group had dropped their hard rhythm and blues numbers to go progressive rock which did not go down with the fans at that time. then they moved to London."
