Tom Bollen

The trumpeter in this photo is the Australian, Tom Bollen.  His orchestra played at the Palais de Danse Edinburgh in 1935-37.

This photo was sent to me by Tom's daughter, Vicki Reilly who wrote:

Australia

"Tom Bollen was born in Broken Hill, NSW, Australia.  He passed away on May 24, 1961 and is buried there.

The golden trumpet that he was awarded for winning the World Championships is buried with him."

Thank you, also, to Murray Bollen for sending me an email from Australia on May 26, 2012, confirming that the trumpeter in this photo is his father (Thomas Albert) Tom Bollen.
