Milton House School Class  -  1957

Thank you to Kenny Blackwood for sending me this photograph of Milton House primary school.

Kenny wrote:

"I am in the back row, second from the left.

To my left is John Ramsay.  Still in the back row, second from the right is Alan Ross.

Front row on the left is James Docherty with Brian Gilhooley to his left.

I'm afraid the rest of the names are no longer in my memory bank although a lot of the faces are familiar."

If you recognise anybody else in this picture, please e-mail me and let me know.

Update

Thank you to Ian McCallum, formerly of 52 Arthur Street who wrote:

"Just to let you know that I recognise my sister, Dorothy McCallum (now Cullen), now living in Canada.

She is in the second row back, sixth from the left."

Question

Jeanette Boon (née Keighren) wrote:

"I was excited to see the 1957 class photograph from my old school, Milton House.  I left the school in 1951 to go to James Clarks.

I wonder if anyone has school photos from Milton House or James Clark while I was there"

Jeanette Boon, Edinburgh:  April 10, 2007

If you know of any more old photos from these schools, please e-mail me and I'll pass on the news to Jeanette.

Thank you.

My Class

"I've just seen this photo:of my class

1957 - Younger Class

I am sitting in the front row, extreme left.

Pat Reynolds is also in the photo.  She is on the extreme right of the row next to the back.

I think that when the photo was taken I lived with my mother in a one- roomed top flat in the Canongate.  If I remember, my teacher's name was Miss Weir and my best friend was Pat Reynolds who lived above the Blue Blanket pub."
