Thank you to Tommy Gourlay for sending me the two photographs above of his class at Lochend School. I've asked Tommy if he can tell me which classes these were and approximately which years the photos would have been taken. Tommy wrote: |

School Class "I have not seen any photos of my old school (Lochend Primary School) on the EdinPhoto web site, so I thought I would send these. I am in the back row. The only names that I remember are: - Joan Joyce. I think she stayed near the 'hole in the wall'. - Tom Cranston who lived near Lochend Park - David Glendinning who stayed in Primrose Street like me. The Photos I've tried to improve the focus and contrast levels of these photos. I've not got them as good as I'd like to see, but nevertheless, I'm happy to add them to this page because i feel that they have appeal - especially Photo 1, taken outdoors in front of the arches. "I am on the back row forth boy from the
