Drylaw Primary School
"The second photo above is of the same class,
one year later, at Drylaw Primary School.
At first, there wasn’t a Primary School for
the new Council Estate at Drylaw, so we started at Flora’s, then moved on
to Drylaw.
Drylaw soon became too small, so Groathill was
built for the Wester Drylaw children.

Two Primary Schools
Thank you for your explanation
of how the class moved from one school to the other. That was
helpful. I'd not have been able to work it out for myself!
They appear to have had larger classes in the 1950s that we've become
accustomed to now. There are 39 children in the first photo and 43
in the second photo above.
