1966

Here is a view looking down on Newington station in 1966, four years after the Edinburgh South Suburban line closed to passenger traffic:

Paul added:

"I think it was 1962 when my entire primary school - Inch (now Liberton) Primary - filed down the steps from Mayfield Gardens on to the station platform before cramming on to the TV Train which took us for a day trip to Pitlochry."
