Le Mans

"This photo, taken at the old Viewforth Coachworks, is of a Jaguar coming out of the paintshop.

Ecurie Ecosse Racing Team was operated out of Merchiston Motors, a number of lock-up garages in Merchiston Mews, Edinburgh.

I painted three D-Type Jaguars for Ecurie Ecosse at Viewforth Coachworks (Flag Metallic Blue with white markings.  The team won First Place in 1956 and 1957 at Le Mans, quite a feat for a small back street garage in Edinburgh.

This photo was taken by one of the workers about 1957.
