Hendry's Soft Drinks

Thank you to Ian Guild

"Not so much memories of the Edinburgh factory ( Leith Walk?) but my  late father, Harry Guild, was the manager of the Dumfries factory and my godfather, Bill Barrie, manager of the Dunfermline branch.

Hendry's was an attempt by the SCWS to expand out of the Co-op shops in the 1950s. It was one of a number of smaller brands which had been taken over by the SCWS. ( Another was Carruther's in Dumfries.)

The brand was resurrected and all the trucks were repainted from green to maroon and grey.

I have a number of the old earthenware ginger bottles.  They come up for sale on eBay regularly.
