Pictures 1 and 2

In the 1990s and early 2000s, a number of former Lothian Region Transport buses operated on the streets of Edinburgh, for one day during each summer, known as the 'Edinburgh Classic Bus Running Day'.

I believe that the first two photos above would have been taken during one of these occasions.

Now, these buses and many others can be found at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond, near Dunfermline, in Fife.

Pictures 3 and 4

Photos 3 and 4 above were taken when bus No.665 ran a special service on Route 1 in 2005 to mark the 25th anniversary of the last clippy (conductor / conductress) to operate on Edinburgh's buses.

Recollections

Buses 101,  900,  665

On this recollections page, Brian Alexander talks about the time when he drove these three buses, all based at Marine Garage, Portobello, in the late-1970s and early-1980s.
