Adam Diston

Most cartes de visite produced in the 18th century were studio portraits.  However, a few photographers, including G W Wilson, James Valentine and Adam Diston produces both outdoor views and portraits.

Medals

Adam Diston

Adam Diston did not have a photographic studio in Edinburgh.  His studios were in Fife, to the North of Edinburgh, across the Firth of Forth. 

However, he was an award winner in many photographic exhibitions including the 1877 Edinburgh Photographic Society Exhibition.  Please click below to see enlargements of the medals depicted on the back of some of his cartes de visite.
