The Writers' Museum

Lady Stair's Close, Lawnmarket, Edinburgh

2013

The Writers' Museum is housed in Lady Stair's House, a 17th century building originally known as Lady Gray's House.  The building is beside James Court, off Lawnmarket.

The building was restored in 1896-97, then gifted to the Borough of Edinburgh for use as a municipal museum.  It now presents the lives of three Scottish writers:

-  Robert Burns

-  Walter Scott

-  Robert Louis Stevenson
