The View

This view looks to the NW from the tower of St Stephen's church.

- The road leading into this picture and along towards Stockbridge is St Stephen Street, a street that at one time included many antique shops.

- The road leading to the right at the junction is Clarence Street.

- The church towards the top-left, now converted to housing, is at the corner of Deanhaugh Street and Leslie Place, close to the bridge over the Water of Leith in the centre of Stockbridge

- The large building, just visible near the upper-right corner of the photo, behind the cricket pitches and Inverleith Park with its pond and rows of trees, is Fettes College.
