The View

This view looks to the NE from the roof of St Stephen's church.  The photo was taken from rather lower down than the top of the tower where the other photos in this series (including the 'zoom-out' photo below) were taken from.

-  The foreground of this photo includes lots of new housing, including the western end of Fettes Row (lower right corner)

-  The large building (centre right) was formerly a cable car powerhouse and depot, built for the Edinburgh Northern Tramway Company depot.  It later became a police garage.  It was redeveloped in 1991 as offices for Scottish Life Assurance Co, retaining its original facade.

-  The light building, just visible on the horizon, towards the right of the photo is Chancelot Mill at Leith Western Harbour, Newhaven.
