Saughton House

Government Offices

Saughton House is a complex of Government offices in Broomhouse Drive, about four miles to the west of the Centre of Edinburgh, close to The Gyle district.

Saughton House comprises blocs of offices, all two storeys high,  on either side of a central entrance.  A question about the original purpose of the buildings has been asked on this page of the EdinPhoto web site.  It has been suggested that it may have been built, post World War II, as an emergency hospital.

Location

The photo above zooms-in on some of the blocks to the west of the central entrance, looking towards these blocks from beside Broomhouse Drive.

The Pentland Hills can be seen in the upper right corner of the photo.
