Omni Centre and  Two Giraffes

Here are the feet of two giraffes, the largest 22 ft tall, both made from scrap metal and standing outside the Omni Centre in Greenside Place, Leith Walk.

The two giraffes stand in front of the Omni Centre.

The message around the feet of the giraffes reads:

Giraffes!  -  a People

Who live between the earth and skies

Each in his own religious steeple

Keeping a lighthouse with his eyes

This poem is by the South African poet and satirist, Roy Campbell (1901-1957)
