The large bay window in the photo at the top of this page is in the corner is in the NE corner of the library.  The window looks out across the Lauriston grounds with their three croquet lawns, towards Cramond Island in Firth of Forth.

One of the bookshelves in the SE corner of the library - the one against the far wall in this photo - opens up as a door, revealing a staircase that leads down to the old Motor Driver's Quarter on the Ground Floor, now the Art Room.
