Laing's Foundry

Beaverbank Place

Powderhall lies about a mile to the north of the center of Edinburgh.  Much of the industry that used to be in the Powderhall area  has now vanished, leaving Laing's foundry in Beaverbank Place in isolation.

This view looks towards Laing's foundry from Logie Green Road, close to its junction with Broughton Road.  The Vogue Furniture Warehouse used to stand on the land in the centre of this photo, that has now been cleared to make way for more retail and business buildings.

Another view from Logie Green Road

Here is another view from Logie Green Road, taken from the same position as the photo at the top of this page, but looking a little further right, towards the tenements in Beaverbank Place, close to the junction with Broughton Road.
