Edinburgh Waterfront was until recently
an area dominated by Granton Gasworks, small industries,
wasteland.
Granton Harbour forms the north eastern
part of the Waterfront. At one time there were large Eastern
and Western Harbours at Granton. Now most of the Western
Harbour has been reclaimed, leaving just the small area of water
above, and no boats.
It was from this point that a catamaran
Ferry operated for a few years [around 1990?]
providing a ferry service between Granton and Burntisland,
about five miles to the north on the Firth of Forth.
