      "This photo of my
      father was taken in Princes
      Street Gardens at an International
Gathering Of The Clans in Edinburgh in the
      1950s.  I'm not sure of
the exact year, but I can say that
it has to be before May of 1956 which is
      when my father died.
I'm told that he was Standard
Bearer for the Clan Grant in the parade
along Princes Street.  This explains the
      flag.
      My father was
John Mitchell Grant.  He was known to
friends and family as Jack.  He
was an industrial chemist and worked in
      Chancelot Mill at Bonnington.
      Hopefully some of the site's
regular visitors can date the photo for us."
