Balloons beside the North British Hotel

Thank you to the family of Oliver Leach for allowing me to reproduce some of Oliver's colour slides on the EdinPhoto webs site, including this photo of balloons that were launched from beside the North British Hotel (now the Balmoral Hotel) at the East End of Princes Street.

Here the balloons have been launched and are in the sky seen against the skyline of Edinburgh Old Town including the crown of St Giles Church in the High Street.

I don't know what this occasion was, but I assume that it was one of the events held during the Edinburgh International Festival in August / September 1986.  These photos are Fujichrome colours slides.  They have a processing date of September 1986.
