Kirkcaldy

Here is a Scottish street scene.  The two vans are parked in front of Adam Smith Court on Kirkcaldy Promenade.  Adam Smith (1723-90) was a philosopher and economist, born and raised in Kirkcaldy.

Kirkcaldy is in the county of Fife, on the northern coast of the Firth of Forth.

Travel between Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy is normally via the Forth Rail Bridge or the Forth Road Bridge, but there is currently a third option.  Stagecoach are carrying out a two-week hovercraft trial (July16-28, 2007) for the 11 mile journey across the Firth of Forth between Portobello to Kirkcaldy.
