There was a brief gap in the snow showers when this photo was taken on the afternoon of January 3, 2008. This was the first day that snow fell in Edinburgh during the winter of 2007-08. This view looks to the west along Queens Drive. The road leads down the hill towards the Palace of Holyrood and the Scottish Parliament, both about 3/4 mile away The prominent building in the background (centre-left) is the former James Clerk's School at St Leonard's, now converted to housing. |
